And somewhere between Louisiana soil and Texas grit,
with a little Mississippi soul woven in — I became aligned.
Mississippi carries a different rhythm.
Slower. Intentional. Rooted in legacy.
It reminds you that strength doesn’t have to shout.
It stands.
I was raised around women who prayed over their homes.
Women who cooked from memory and loved without measure.
Women who knew when to speak — and when to let silence do the work.
I also saw struggle.
I saw delay.
I saw people dim themselves because no one told them they were crowned.
But I knew early — I was not built small.
I felt deeply.
I discerned sharply.
I moved when Spirit said move.
What once felt heavy became precision.
What once felt isolating became assignment.
Life stretched me.
Loss disciplined me.
Obedience elevated me.
When God said, “Build,”
I built with backbone.
